As we previously blogged about, the CFPB has proposed new debt collection rules and regulations that would alter the way the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is applied. The regulations cover from when a debt collector first begins collecting, to when they file a collection lawsuit and afterwards.
